Ann Hamilton: Vice President
Ann Hamilton, vice president at Hicks Partners, LLC, is a 16-year communications professional with experience reaching from the governor’s office of Ohio to Capitol Hill.
At Hicks Partners, Hamilton is responsible for developing strategic communications for public- and private-sector clients and representing client matters before Congress.
Prior to joining Hicks Partners Hamilton served as communications director for the Ohio governor, where she was responsible for overseeing the communications office and strategic communication planning. The office coordinated with more than 25 state agencies to further the governor’s economic, transportation, technology, education and other state priorities.
Hamilton was vice president at public relations firm Paul Werth Associates, where she served as strategic and communications counsel to State Issue 1 (the Clean Ohio initiative), The Richard E. Jacobs Group, the Ohio Department of Development and DANIS Construction, among others.
Hamilton served from 1994-1999 as partner at Brabender Cox, a political media and consulting firm in Pittsburgh and Washington, D.C. Her responsibilities included developing message and campaign strategies for federal candidates, governors and members of Congress. The firm’s clients included U.S. Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA) and U.S. Representatives Dave Hobson (R-OH).
Hamilton served as press secretary to former U.S. Senator Connie Mack (R-FL) and managed the successful 1994 election campaign of former Congressman Frank Cremeans (R-OH). Recognized as a “Rising Star” by Campaigns and Elections magazine, she was also noted as an “up and comer” in Columbus Monthly. She has contributed as an author to Campaigns & Elections magazine and has served as a panelist for National Journal’s Hotline.
Hamilton holds a J.D. degree from the University of Dayton School of Law and a B.A. from the School of International Service at The American University, Washington, D.C.
