IGS Energy expanding with two-building campus in Dublin

The energy business is big business, and big business leads to big buildings.
For that, Dublin is thankful.
IGS Energy, which markets natural gas in six states, has started work on a two-building corporate campus at 6100 Emerald Parkway in Dublin. The first project is a 108,000-square-foot, four-story building expected to be completed by summer 2010.
It will be the latest corporate headquarters along I-270. IGS Energy’s 16-acre site fits snugly between Qwest Communications and Safety Solutions amid the Rts. 161-33 and Tuttle Crossing Boulevard interchanges.
“It’s definitely exciting for the city in that we have a company that’s been in Dublin for quite a few years, grown and has realized great success,” said Dana McDaniel, Dublin’s economic-development director. “They’re going to continue that presence.”
Dublin is providing IGS with grants and incentives worth up to $805,000 over the course of eight years, beginning in 2010.
The city has been considering changes to several of its zoning regulations to require environmentally friendly design attributes. IGS’s headquarters would fit in, because the first building is being designed to achieve certification from the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program. IGS President Scott White said plans still are being made for how the building will achieve that certification.
IGS has 150 employees in central Ohio and currently has headquarters at 5020 Bradenton Ave.
McDaniel said the city expects IGS to start on the second building, a three-story, 75,000-square-foot structure, within four years.
